Treatment in Marrakech, a few hours from Dakar and Abidjan

Every year, families from West Africa look for a safe place to treat a loved one dependent on alcohol, tramadol, cocaine or cannabis. Places in specialised centres remain rare in the region, and the fear of being recognised keeps many patients away. Olive Hill Clinique welcomes them in Marrakech, in a licensed medical facility, away from their everyday environment.

A team that speaks your language

Care is provided in French, English and Arabic. Medical interviews, psychotherapy and exchanges with the family take place in the patient's own language. Our medical direction is led by Pr Bochra Ben Mohamed, psychiatrist, former head of department at a university hospital. The programme is directed by Dr Massimo Riccio, psychiatrist. What we treat

How admission works

  • A first confidential call, by phone or WhatsApp, with our admissions team. The patient or a relative can call.
  • A remote medical assessment within 24 hours, based on medical history and current treatment.
  • Organising the trip: we tell you which documents to prepare and we welcome the patient at Marrakech Menara airport.
  • Arrival at the clinic within 48 hours when urgency justifies it.

Travel and formalities

  • Flights: daily connections from Dakar and Abidjan to Morocco, with a connection in Casablanca for Marrakech.
  • Visa: many West African countries are exempt from a visa for a short stay in Morocco. Our team checks your situation before departure.
  • Support: a relative can accompany the patient on arrival.

The family, a stakeholder in care

In West Africa as in the Maghreb, the decision to seek treatment is often made as a family. We take this into account: the family is informed, with the patient's consent, and can take part in our family therapy week. The return home is prepared before discharge, with a remote follow-up plan.

Discretion

No information is shared without the patient's written consent. The stay can be presented to those around them as a rest stay. Medical confidentiality applies to every exchange, from the first call to follow-up after discharge.
